Descriptions:

Vergon (Prochlorperazine Maleate) is a phenothiazine derivative, which is effective in vertigo and migraine it also quickly controls the frequently associated symptoms of nausea and vomiting. In normal dosage vergon is remarkably free from sedative or other unwanted effects which is very beneficial for the working patients.

Indications:

In the treatment of migraine, vertigo, nausea and vomiting and also as a day-time tranquillizer.

Dosage:

Adults: Nausea and vomiting of whatever cause: Prevention: 1-2 tablets t.i.d. treatment: 4 tablets at once and 2 tablets after 2 hours.

Vertigo and Meneire’s syndrome: 1 tablet t.i.d. maintenance dose: 1-2 tablets once daily.

Migraine: Prevention: 1 tablets t.i.d.

Treatment: 4 tablets at once and 2 tablets after 2 hours

 Minor mental and emotional disturbances: 1 tablet t.i.d.

Children: (for all indications) 13-16 years: lower adults dose.

6-12 yers: 1 tablets two or three times daily.

1-5 years: ½ tablet twice daily

Side-effects:

Transient drowsiness and dryness of mouth may occur occasionally in the initial dosage. Parkinsonian syndrome may occur during treatment with Vergon. Very rarely mild skin rashes are reported.

Precautions:

The daily dose of vergon should not exceed 40 mg. for long term treatment an antidote drug should be used concomitantly.

Contraindications:

The patients are hypersensitive to phenothiazine derivatives and extrapyramidal syndrome.

 Presentation:

Vergon Tablet: Each tablet contains 5 mg of prochlorperazine maleate BP.

Packing:

Vergon Tablet: Cartons of 10+10 tablets in blister strips.
